What is this fundraiser for?

The band and orchestra will have one fundraiser to raise money that the donation from the start of school cannot be used for. The music donation from the beginning of the year covers items for the students this year only. We need to fundraise for long term items such as instruments, music stands, music chairs, recording equipment for rehearsal strategies, etc.

What is the Cougar Gold Card?

The Cougar Gold Discount Cards look like a credit card and you can save money by using them at various businesses throughout the Mission Viejo Area. Basically you show your card, get your discount and keep you card, ready to use the next day. The discount cards have about 25 different stores from fast food to driving ranges to bowling alleys. It can save you $100's of dollars! The Cougar Gold Card expires August 31, 2010 and sells for $10. (Makes a great gift!)

What is an Entertainment Book?

We are able to offer the full Orange County Entertainment Book which offers over $15,000 in discounts! Students will be given 1 book to use as a demo and need to take orders for any other books they wish to sell. The entertainment books offer restaurant discounts, service & shopping services, auto, movie and attraction discounts. There are approx. over 400 restaurants listed in the Orange County book alone! Get 1 or more today. The Orange County book sells for $35 ($5 off the retail price) and you can order books for other counties. The list of other counties are listed on the order form and since there is no shipping charges, they will be the price that's listed.

What happens when the students start their sale?

All students will be given an order form for the Cougar Gold Card and the Entertainment Books. They will also be given a demo book and a list of the cards businesses to use as a demo for the sale. They should use it to demo for their sales, take orders for more and give the last person the demo. This book & card is NOT free and all students are responsible to sell or return the book and card in perfect/new condition at the end of the sale (Oct. 15) if they are unable to sell them.

When is the fundraiser?

Oct. 2-15. All orders should be filled before the previous years' books expire on Nov. 1st! We will try to fill orders asap and out of town orders will take from 2-4 weeks to receive.

When can I turn in orders?

Oct. 15th ONLY

All students will need to turn in their monies on Oct. 24. Since all students received a demo book will expect any unsold items to be turned in on Oct. 24. Those students who were unable to sell and those who do not return the book & card by that day will be billed for them.

How does my child get the books or cards they order?

When the students turn in their money we will hand them the Entertainment Books & Cougar Gold Cards immediately, as long as we haven't run out. If we run out of Orange County Books and/or Cougar Gold cards, we will have the books or cards to the students within 1-2 weeks of the end of the sale.

If the Entertainment Book is an other county, we will need to order them right away. The people who ordered the books will be given the books within 2 weeks or so from the end of the sale. The other counties books will be mailed directly to the person who buys them.

What are the prizes for selling cougar gold cards?

OK. This is the most fun part for all the students! When you reach every prize, you still get the lower level prizes. There are seperate prizes for each part of the sle. FYI - You can combine cards or donations to earn prizes.

How can I get an order form?

Students will get order forms with their demo book and card at the start of the sale on October 2. Remember the demo book/card is not free.

Who do I make checks out to?

Newhart M.S. and Cash is always OK! Please do not combine orders of books with cards and/or donations. You are welcome to combine books with books and cards with cards. Combining is not necessary but might be more convenient for you!

Can I make a donation instead of participating?

Those students/families who would like to donate instead of sselling or in addition to selling cards may do so. We always appreciate your help and support!!

Students can also qualify for prizes with donations as long as the donations are turned in before Oct. 15. Therefore if you look at the prizes on the cougar card order form, you can figure out what you may wish to donate. In order for donations to count for prizes, we must receive them by the end of the sale.
